Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Fergana voters
On September 28, the candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters of Fergana region.
The event was opened by the authorized representative of the candidate in Fergana region E. Siddikov.
Candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a presentation on his pre-election program. The program consists of ten priority areas covering such spheres as economics, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, healthcare, regional development, public administration, rule of law, foreign policy and culture.
As for the rest of the regions, the program defines plans to improve the well-being of the population and accelerate the development of Fergana region.
In particular, in the next five years, it is planned to allocate 10 trillion UZS to improve electricity and water supply systems, sewer networks and heating, road infrastructure. During this period, it is planned to build 700 multi-storey buildings with 30 thousand apartments, new roads, power supply and drinking water supply networks.
The main attention is paid to the development of the social sphere. It was noted that to strengthen the activities of primary healthcare, 22 new medical centers and 10 family polyclinics will be built and equipped. A 120-bed Children’s Medical Rehabilitation Center and an Endocrinology Center will be organized in cooperation with India.
Enrollment in preschool education will reach 90 percent. The capacity of secondary schools will be increased by 100 thousand places. 4 new universities will be opened together with leading foreign universities.
To reduce unemployment and poverty, increase the level of income in the next five years, it is planned to create more than 420 thousand new jobs in the region. In particular, it is planned to employ 120 thousand people through the development of entrepreneurship, services and handicrafts, as well as more than 140 thousand people in agriculture.
Over the next five years, over 11 thousand investment projects worth $8 billion will be implemented in the region. Industrial projects will create 115 thousand new workplaces. Technoparks with 300 industrial projects will be organized in Yazyavan, Sokh and Furkat districts, where the level of industry is low.
An opportunity was noted to increase regional exports by 3 times and bring it up to $2 billion, including the supply of industrial goods – up to $1.6 billion. In the structure of regional exports, the share of finished goods with added value will be increased from the current 45 to 77 percent.
“When we call Fergana “golden valley”, we mean mainly its beautiful nature, a generous land. But we will achieve fuller compliance with this beautiful definition only when we manage to raise honor and dignity, to pay due respect to people living here, to comprehensively improve their lives”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
