Uzbekistan and Türkiye leaders note ample opportunities for further deepening the strategic partnership
On November 8, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
Issues of further enhancing multifaceted cooperation and deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye were discussed.
The ongoing intensive mutual contacts and exchanges were noted with satisfaction. The trade turnover, the frequency of direct flights, and tourist flows are growing.
Large investment projects are being implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Turkish companies. Since the beginning of the year, more than $500 million in direct capital investments have been attracted, and over 200 new enterprises have been created.
The importance of accelerating joint projects and programs in trade, industry, innovation, energy, transport, education, culture, tourism, and others was emphasized.
The schedule of the upcoming events was reviewed, including preparations for the next meeting of the Uzbekistan – Türkiye Strategic Cooperation Council.
The heads of state exchanged views on the current issues on the regional agenda.
