The first stone for the construction of the Alisher Navoi memorial complex was laid in Mazar-i-Sharif
A groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration and improvement project for the memory of the great scientist, poet, founder of the modern Uzbek language and literature, statesman and philanthropist Alisher Navoi monument was held in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif with the participation of representatives of local authorities and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the media and the public.
According to the Mazar-i-Sharif Municipality, a more extensive plot of land will be allocated for the new complex compared to the previous one.
It is well-known that Alisher Navoi legacy belongs to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, as well as all Central, South and West Asia.
For this reason, it is also planned to install a memorial plaque in Uzbek, English, Dari and Pashto, reflecting the biography, life path and good deeds of the scientist as a statesman.
It should be added that the fruitful work begun in Afghanistan on the restoration of the monument and the improvement of its surroundings is evidence of the respect shown to the great scientist in this country.
