The prospects of opening a branch of the leading Spanish university UNIVERSAE in our country were discussed
The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Spain, Farrukh Tursunov, held talks with Manuel Gazapo Lapaeze, Director of Institutional Relations at Spain's UNIVERSAE University, and Said Hamed Vakhdat Ahmadzoda, Director of the university's department in Madrid.
At the beginning of the conversation, the university representatives highlighted the large-scale reforms carried out in the field of higher education in Uzbekistan in recent years. It was noted that the concept for the development of the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, adopted in 2019, serves as an important basis for determining the strategic goals, tasks, and stages of development in both the near and long term. This concept also aids in the development of programs and comprehensive measures in the field.
Currently, the number of higher education institutions in Uzbekistan has reached 213, including 166 state universities, 67 non-state universities, 30 foreign universities, and 9 branches from countries such as Great Britain, Italy, Japan, India, South Korea, and Singapore. It was emphasized that more than 1 million students are enrolled in institutions in Russia, Latvia, and other countries, leading to a 42% increase in the level of youth education.
The university representatives provided information about their institution's activities, goals, objectives, and future plans. UNIVERSAE University is an innovative and revolutionary educational institution that extensively uses new technologies. It offers about 50 diverse courses in undergraduate, graduate, and double degree programs. The new education system allows the university to annually train thousands of highly qualified specialists to work in various sectors of the economy.
Considering Uzbekistan's growing economic, social, and demographic potential, as well as its friendly foreign policy with neighboring countries, the university representatives proposed opening a UNIVERSAE branch in Uzbekistan and provided draft legal documents related to this initiative. They expressed confidence that Uzbekistan will become a leading educational center in Central Asia and that UNIVERSAE is ready to contribute to this development.
