Uzbekistan on the world tourism arena: results of participation in FITUR-2025

The Uzbekistan delegation, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoev and Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev, participated in the FITUR-2025 international tourism fair, which was held in Madrid from January 22 to 26.
Uzbekistan's national stand brought together representatives from the National PR-Centre under the Tourism Committee, the Khorezm Department for Tourism Development, and leading tourism companies such as Uzbekistan Discovery, Rocket Uzbekistan DMC, Dolores Travel Group, and others. Additionally, Uzbekistan Airways had a dedicated stand, where it announced the resumption of direct flights between Tashkent and Madrid.
One of the key highlights was the visit of Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), to Uzbekistan’s stand. He praised the high level of organization and the country's rich tourism potential, emphasizing its unique cultural heritage.
Representatives of Uzbek travel companies introduced visitors to new travel routes showcasing Uzbekistan's cultural, historical, and gastronomic treasures.
A particular highlight was the exclusive collection of national clothing presented by renowned designer Hamida Inoyatova. Her designs blended traditional motifs with contemporary trends, featuring exquisite Uzbek fabrics such as adras and ikat, which captivated the audience with their beauty and craftsmanship.
This year, FITUR-2025 set new records, attracting around 255,000 visitors over five days, with participation over 9,500 companies from 156 countries.
The FITUR-2025 international fair not only served as a platform for promoting Uzbekistan's tourism potential but also played a crucial role in strengthening international partnerships and positioning the country as a promising global travel destination.
The next FITUR exhibition is scheduled to take place from January 21 to 26, 2026.
